31 Days of Spray Paint – Day 14 Upholstery

I could not have predicted that when I took on this 31 day series I would have #1, gotten sick and #2, had one of my busiest weeks ever!  Ok, enough of the excuses, I’m back on track!

Did you know you can spray paint upholstery?  More importantly, did you know you can spray paint upholstery and have it come out beautifully using non-toxic, non-flammable aerosol paint without changing the feel, will not stiffen the fabric and once dry, will not rub off?   Well, you can and here are some inspiring photos to prove it!

And the product of choice appears to be Simply Spray Fabric Paint

31 Days of Spray Paint – Day 9

Well, I missed day 7 and 8 as I was feeling under the weather.  Still not totally 100 percent but I don’t want to miss another day of the 31 series so today I’m going to highlight more glass projects.  The difference here is, rather than painting the outside of the vase, paint the inside.  It gives it a totally different look, which I love. You can even get a mercury glass or milk glass look…love even more!

Simple white spray paint looks like milk glass!

Inexpensive glass pumpkin cookie jar purchased at CVS, to get the look of these mercury glass pumkins at Pottery Barn.  Instructions to get the mercury glass look – http://somekindoflovelyride.com/2012/09/14/pottery-barn-inspired-faux-mercury-glass-pumpkin/

Spray paint 2 coats on inside,  apply stencil to the outside and spray with frosted glass finish, gorgeous!

New look for apothecary jars

31 Days of Spray Paint – Day 6 Chairs

Everyone has one…that one-off chair; maybe found at the flea-market…maybe handed down from G-ma; however it was acquired, most of us have a cute little “occasional” chair just waiting for attention and a spot in the house.  Grab the spray paint, maybe some fabric – and give it the TLC it’s craving!

31 Days of Spray Paint – Day 5 Pumpkins

We love Halloween in our house and the work and decorations we put into it are only second to Christmas.  I have to admit though, I do not look forward to carving pumpkins; the mess, the sharp knives the effort, it’s something that we usually put off until the last-minute.  This year I’m going to try something different, spray painting them, yes you can spray paint pumpkins and here are some clever, fun, and beautiful creations using spray paint.

Metalic spray paint, gorgeous!

Love the colors

Stencils and spray paint – cute!

Glitter – love!

Ok it’s not spray paint but I had to include these gorgeous pumpkins using drip art technique – click on picture for instructions

Lace and black spray paint

Spider stencils, clever!

Ideas are endless!

31 Days of Spray Paint – Day 4

31 Day series continues.  This post will be brief as I have a big staging day, however, I made the 31 day commitment so I’m not going to skip a day!

Wicker is a no brainer when it comes to spray painting and I bet almost everyone has painted a wicker chair but check out some of these creative transformations…who would have thought to spray paint a wicker bag???

31 Days of Spray Paint – Day 3

It’s amazing what spray paint can do to transform and update a lamp.  Lighting can be expensive so before you throw out that lamp, that ugly outdated lamp, try a little spray paint.  You might also try local thrift stores or garage sales, look for beautiful shapes and lines.  I’ve searched the web and here are some of my favorite transformations.
